About me

1976887_10155713240700253_8731170306530401382_nHi.  My name is Derek.

Before becoming a counsellor I worked as a professional in the city of London for nearly 20 years whilst living in a rural community in Northamptonshire.

This has given me a unique insight into the stresses and strains of living and working in London, including the pressure of corporate work and the effects that this pressure can have on you and your relationships, and the issues you can face because of the closeness of small communities.

It has also given me an insight on how lonely and solitary you can feel in both these situations, and how important it is to have someone you feel you can talk to about your worries without being judged.

It was this experience that led me to train as a counsellor to help people understand and cope with these challenges.
